2014 Mar 10 - We arrived at Sebastian Inlet State Park

We were all set up at Sebastian Inlet by about 2:30. The location of the park, and its name, are kind of hard to explain.

All along the east coast of the U.S., there is a string of islands. At this location, the body of water formed between the islands and the mainland is call the Indian River. Sebastian is the town on the mainland across the river from the park. There is a channel between two of the islands called the Sebastian Inlet. It allows water from the Atlantic Ocean into the Indian River.

The campground we're in is situated along the bank of the Sebastian Inlet. Unfortunately, we're in the third row back from the water, so we can't see it from our campsite, but we feel lucky to even have a spot here. I tried three times, eleven months ago, before getting one of the 51 campsites.

This evening, before sunset, we saw several dolphins swimming in the inlet, but it's pretty hard to get a picture of them. I'll try harder while we're here.
