We drove 403 miles today. A couple of pics as we left the Badlands and a few after we camped in Lewis & Clark State Park in Onawa, IA. No problems on the road.
Tomorrow will be a 480 mile blast for home, so this is the last post for this trip. Hope you enjoyed it. We had a great time - except for changing the wheel bearings in Tensleep, WY - but, even that wasn't bad.
See you next time!
After breakfast, we went to the Visitor Center and watched the twenty minute orientation film, then we headed out across the park, taking the road thru the main section. Then it was off onto a dirt road for about 10 miles in hopes of seeing Buffalo. No luck!
About 3:00, we ended up in Wall, SD, but we didn't go to Wall Drug. Did that in 1971. It was a tourist trap then. I don't even want to think about it now. However, we did stop at the Dairy Queen. From Wall, we headed South back into the park and retraced the 24 miles of paved road we had dr
iven earlier in the day. We stopped at the lodge to use the WiFi to post yesterday's blog entry, then headed back to camp. In all, we drove about 80 miles and made many stops and walked a lot. It was a good day!
Tomorrow, we jump on the Interstate and head toward home. We'll let you know what happens. Oh, BTW, no more wheel bearing trouble.
