2013 Sept 15 Wind River Canyon, Hot Springs State Park, Petroglyphs at Legend Rock

This is our last day in Thermopolis or "Thermop" as the natives call it. The three main things we did today was drive the Wind River Canyon, Explore Hot Springs State Park, and see the petroglyphs at Legend Rock.

You may not be able to tell it from the pictures, but the drive thru Wind River Canyon was downhill in both directions, or at least it seemed like it. I wish the sun had been shining, but the canyon was beautiful anyway. In some places the canyon walls are 2,500 feet tall!

The hot springs were interesting. We didn't soak, but several friends did. We had a picnic lunch in the park instead.

Then it was 25 miles of paved road and 3 miles of gravel and dirt to get to the petroglyphs at Legend Rock. Beautiful scenery, and we saw some Pronghorn Antelope along the way.

Hope you enjoy the pictures. Tomorrow we're going to backtrack to South Dakota and try to camp in Badlands National Park. See you there!
