Today, we delivered our 2009 Aliner Classic Highwall camper to its new owner, Walter, from Sterling Heights, MI. We took the camper to him at his daughter's house in Crestwood, IL. Walter was so excited! His wife said he couldn't sleep last night. Walter is 56 years old and, although they have camped in tents for years, this is their first camper.
We spent a couple of hours there showing Walter the fine points of the Aliner. We told Walter and his wife that we hope they have as many good times in it as we have had. I'm sure it went to a good home.
We had five years of great trip, pulling the camper over 63,000 miles. We'll be getting a new camper, but not until November due to the production schedule.The new camper is made by Safari Condo near Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The model is an Alto R1713.
Our next adventure, in late July/Early August, will be a trip to East Africa. Stay tuned!
Earlier in the week, we watched Adi compete in the USTA National Championships. After driving back to Chad & Faith's house to pick up our camper and get a good night's sleep, we headed for Hoby's Happy Hippie Hoedown at Rend Lake in southern Illinois.
A lot of Hoby's family were there and there were many organized (and disorganized) activities to keep everyone busy and laughing. We had a great time!
This was our last camping trip in our 2009 Aliner Classic Highwall. Next Saturday, it will go to a new home in Sterling Heights, MI. I hope Walter, the new owner, has as much adventure, fun, and good times as Marsha and I have had during our 63,000+ miles of travel with it.
We dropped the camper off at Chad & Faith's house on Monday and headed for Louisville, KY to watch Adi compete in the USTA National Championships. We spent Monday evening watching the kids in the hotel pool before turning in so we could get up for Adi's 8:30 double mini competition on Tuesday morning.
Tuesday, it was double mini and trampoline eliminations. Wednesday was tumbling elimination and the finals for all three events. Adi got a 6th in double mini, 6th in tumbling, and 2nd in trampoline. Not a bad showing!
On Tuesday afternoon, we went downtown and for lunch at Boomer's Cafe and a tour of the Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum. It's an interesting place. A lot of history there.
Late Wednesday afternoon, after Adi's last event, Marsha and I headed back to Chad and Faith's house while they headed to Florida for a few days of vacation on the beach. We "camped" in the driveway and headed for Hoby's Happy Hippy Hoedown on Thursday morning.
