2015 Mar 25 - The Naval Aviation Museum and the Blue Angels

We woke up at 6:30 this morning in order to get an early start to get the Naval Aviation Museum on Naval Air Station Pensacola. During the late evening hours yesterday, a troop of spring breakers set up two large tents and scattered "stuff" all over their site. Anyway, we were on our way to the Museum by 8:00.

We got to the museum at 9:00 and looked around for 45 minutes before getting in line to go watch the Blue Angels practice which began at 11:30. After the Blue Angels show, we ate lunch at the CUBI Bar in the museum, then continued our tour.

I'll just say that the Blue Angels were great. We've seen them before, but they never cease to amaze. The female pilot of FAT ALBERT, the C-130 cargo plane assigned to the Blue Angels, was no slouch either! I'll let the pictures tell you the story of our day on the air base.

Our friends, Gary and Andrea arrived today while we were at the air base. We went to dinner with them at Peg Leg Pete's, just down the road from the park entrance. After dinner, we enjoyed our campfire for a while, then turned in for the night.
