Sunday was grocery shopping day at the Walmart a couple miles down the street from the park. After we loaded up there, we loaded up at Fat Boys BBQ restaurant. It was real good BBQ. Since we ate at 2:00, we didn't do much but lay around (I took a nap) for the rest of the day.
Monday, as it it is in many places, was wash day. The washer and dryer were only $1.00 per load. After paying $2.50 at Hillsborough River, we thought we should dollar cost average.
We finally got a warm, sunny day, so we took off on the bikes. I turned off the pavement onto an inviting trail which soon turned into soft sand. After cabling the bikes to a sign post, we proceeded on foot to see where the trail went. It was called the Sink Hole Trail, but after walking about a mile, looping back to get the bikes, and finishing the rest of the trail on the other side of the road, we never saw a sink hole. But it was a nice ride/walk.
After grilling chicken over an open wood fire, we spent the evening with our neighbors, Herb and Kim from Pennsylvania, shooting the breeze next to their campfire.
Tuesday was another nice day (two in a row!), so we decided to hike the Swamp Trail that we thought we hiked a few days ago, but didn't. It was very scenic, with a long boardwalk before ending on the bank of the Silver River.
Tomorrow we leave for Henderson Beach State Park near Destin. It's about a six hour drive. See you there!
