Ft. Pickens Campground is a federal facility located on the Gulf Islands National Seashore, which is on Santa Rosa Island. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon and drove around checking things out after setting up. Luckily, our campsite is in Loop A, a nice, quiet, rather small loop. Down the road are Loops B, C, D, and E. A hodgepodge of interlocking loops, screaming kids and general chaos!
We met our neighbors across the street, Paul and Wendy, from Vermont. While we were at their site, Jeff and Christina, from Nova Scotia, dropped by with a small cooler. Next thing we knew, we were having a party! They all were great people, but were leaving the next day, so it was a short visit.
We capped off our evening with a campfire.
