2015 Mar 20 - Hiking Trails and Walking the Beach

Today, we drove to the camp store to check out the shuttle to Shell Island. Turns out, there's nothing there, not even a restroom. It's just a natural island with no improvements, trails, etc. We decided to pass on that and hike a trail or two near Gator Lake. We saw some wildlife there and when we waked across the road to check out Buttonwood Marsh, we actually saw a gator. It was our second one on the whole trip!

Then we walked the Jetty and Gulf beaches. It was pretty foggy, but the beaches are really nice. When we got back to camp, we walked around the campground and saw some pelicans trying to mooch some dinner.

Back at camp, we built a fire and roasted some brats for our dinner. We sat at the fire until it was totally burned out before going inside and typing this blog entry.
