2011 - Dec. 10 - Did laundry and boarded the Pride of America

We got up at 6:30 this morning so that we could do our laundry and possibly avoid having it done on the ship. There's no laundry on the ship, so we figured doing it in the laundry-mat at the hotel would surely be cheaper. Good move because after we were aboard the ship, we found out that the ship's laundry charges by the piece: underwear - $1.95, T-shirt - $4.95, etc. Hell, none of my T-shirts are worth $4.95! I think we did OK, even at $3.00 per washload.

We got aboard the ship at noon, but couldn't get into our cabin until 3:00, so we ate lunch in the Sky Line Restaurant and took a nap on the pool deck. Well actually in the beach chairs. When they let us into our cabin, I continued my nap until they brought our luggage. After we stowed our clothes, we attended the mandatory emergency drill. No pictures of that - not allowed.

Then it was back to the pool deck for the Jimmy Buffet (buffet) Happy Hour where we drank $3.95 Margaritas, two of which cost $9.46! At the bar, we struck up a conversation with a BMW Motorcycle rider and his wife from British Columbia. Then we ate at the buffet (buffay) before returning to our cabin.

I think it's time for another nap!
