It was a beautiful Wednesday morning in Queenstown when we got on the bus for our four hour ride to Milford Sound. It would probably be about an hour if we didn't have to go around a clump of mountains. Check it out on Google Maps sometime. They call it Milford Sound, but it's actually a fiord that was carved out by a glacier.
As we traveled the countryside, I noticed that a lot of the farmers' hedge rows are actually pruned like they might be if they were in a formal garden. Only difference is that some of them are twenty feet tall!
I took a lot of scenic pictures today. Some on the way to Milford Sound and many from the boat while we cruised the sound. The cruise, including lunch, was about two hours long and went from the inland end of the sound out to the Tasman Sea and back. Not much to say except, "Enjoy the pics!"
After the cruise, we got back on the bus. The trip back to Queenstown was over the same route, so we watched "The World's Fastest Indian," a movie I had seen before, a true story about an old guy from New Zealand who built a motorcycle and ran it at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
When we got back to Queenstown, we walked the two blocks to the Queenstown Mall for, as Jim called it, a little "retail therapy" and a stroll along the waterfront before going back to the hotel and turning in for the night.

The Milford Sound trip was one of my favorite things we did...the scenery!
Those two last photos are really something!
