I skipped Sunday, the 26th because I was sick and only took two pictures. We spent most of the day flying from Sydney to Christchurch. Then we took a short bus tour of the city before checking in to the Chateau on the Park Hotel for a one night stay.
Today (Monday), we took the Trans Alpine Train from Christchurch westward into the Southern Alps where we met our bus at Arthurs Pass for the trip down the western slopes to the town of Hokitika. Then down the coast to Franz Josef where we spent the night at the Franz Joseph Glacier Hotel.
We saw a lot of beautiful scenery, but that's nothing unusual on New Zealand's South Island.
