2017 Feb 20-24 - Last 2 Days at Long Point, Early at Highllands Hammock

It's been a pretty lazy few days. On Monday, we hung around Long Point Park, spending some time hiking around the adjoining island on the other side of the bridge.
On Tuesday, we were supposed to go to lunch with Marsha's cousins, Mary Ann and Margaret, and their husbands, Leroy and Tom. We got a call from Leroy that morning telling us that Mary Ann had broken her ankle the previous day and it hadn't been set yet due to the swelling, so they would have to pass on lunch. We went to Tom and Margaret's house and, on our way to lunch, we all stopped by to see Mary Ann and Leroy. She'll be fine after they get her ankle set and the cast put on.
The four of us went to Longdoggers Grill & Brew for lunch. Food was good and the conversation was great!
Wednesday, we hitched up during a pouring rain storm and drove the 126 miles to Highlands Hammock State Park in Sebring. We found ourselves going right by the entrance to my brother's workplace, so we stopped in for a quick visit on the way.
Thursday morning, there was a $4.00 breakfast and a $5.00 dinner at the recreation hall in the park. Mid-day was laundry time again and I spent some time in the parking lot at Publix using their WiFi to answer emails, etc. They consistently have the fastest WiFi of any we've used while on the road.
Friday, we spent four hours on the Internet at McDonald's laying out our Florida camping itinerary for 2018. Got it all planned. Now all we have to do is get lucky when it's time to make reservations.
