Our friends, Herb and Kim, from Pennsylvania arrived early on Sunday afternoon. We visited and I shot some pics of their dog, Katie, in hunting mode.
On Monday, Marsha and I walked around the campground, then headed down the road to walk the five mile loop, including the boardwalk trail through the cypress hammock. We saw turtles and birds, but no gators! Oh, well, we're sure to see plenty of them somewhere on this trip.
When we got back to camp, we learned that Katie has many for ms of hunting and many forms of prey. We really enjoyed our time with Herb and Kim. Hope to see them again next year.
Tuesday, we said good-bye and drove the 115 miles to Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound, FL. There has been a line at the dump station when we left Highlands Hammock, so we dumped on our way into JDSP. Our campsite was just a couple of slots away from the one we had here five years ago, but there are two new bath houses and new utilities in the River Campground.
As you can see, nothing very exciting has happened in the past few days, but stay tuned. We have plans for Thursday!
