We were on the floor of the crater by 8:00am. There is always water in the crater, so many animals live here or come here to drink. No Maasai live in the crater, by regulation, but they bring their livestock here from outside the crater to drink.
There are no impala or giraffe in the crater because their favorite food doesn't grow here. The wildebeest that live here don't migrate because they have a good food supply here all year.
We saw several lions in the crater. They have a good food supply here, too!
We got back to our room about 3:15 and had some time to rest before dinner at 7:30. It was early to bed because we have a long trip to Serengeti National Park tomorrow.
