I got up earlier than I did yesterday, so after Marsha cooked a great egg and hash brown breakfast, we left camp at about 11:00. First stop was at Wildwood Stables to see about taking one of the carriage rides through the park. They were all booked up for today and tomorrow, so we made reservations for 4:30 Friday afternoon. More on that in a couple of days.
We stopped at the Jordan Pond House where we ate lunch and sampled their famous popovers the last time we were here. So today we skipped lunch and decided to walk around the "pond." It's a big pond!
After our hike, we drove through Northeast Harbor and stopped for gas while we were there. After meandering back to camp, we did laundry and cooked burgers over the campfire. After dinner, we sat around the fire for a while before deciding to go inside where it was warm.
So Marsha is working on a Sudoku puzzle and I'm working on this blog post. Enjoy!

2012 - Sept 11 Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park
Well, I caught up on all the sleep I've missed in the past week or so. I got out of bed this morning at 11:20, so we didn't get a very early start on the day. Maybe tomorrow?
We headed for Bar Harbor, or Ba Haba as it's known around here, where we had some good home made ice cream and walked around for a bit. Then we drove part of the loop road, stopping for sight seeing and photos along the way, before heading back to the grocery store to pick up a couple of things we forgot yesterday. By the time we got back to the camper and had dinner of the left over pork roast we grilled the other night, it was 8:30. Too late to start a campfire, so here I am. Enjoy!

2012 - Sept 10 Sebago Lake State Park to Smuggler's Den Via Red's Eats
We awoke to a beautiful morning on the shores of Sebago Lake. By 9:30, we were on the road, headed for Red's Eats in Wiscasset. We got to Wiscasset just after Red's opened at 11:30. By the time we parked the car and walked to Red's, it was 11:53 when I took the first picture and, as you can see, the line had already formed. By the time we got to the the window to place our order, the line was twice as long!
Again, the pictures tell the story. We arrived at Smuggler's Den Campground in Southwest Harbor, ME at about 4:30. We got set up and went to the grocery store to pick up a few things. I was tired by the time we got back to camp, so I built a fire and we just roasted a couple of hot dogs.
More to come. We'll be here for five nights!
