2013 - Sept 10 Scenic Ride With Jim & Bonnie
We left the campground this morning at about 10:10 and headed north toward Spearfish. We took some scenic dirt road and went through some quaint little places along the way. On the way back to camp, we went through Deadwood and didn't even stop. Pretty much a gambling-for-tourists town.
We got back to camp and did laundry before eating dinner with Jim & Bonnie. Nothing real exciting, but a nice day.

2013 - Sept 9 Custer State Park Wildlife Loop
Today started off with a breakfast buffet, of which I forgot to take pictures, but I did get a neat shot of a bee on a screen! After breakfast and a shower, Marsha and I took off for a drive around the Wildlife Loop in Custer State Park.
We then left the park and made our way to the little tourist trap town of Keystone where we ate lunch at 3:00, so we skipped dinner and headed back to camp where we met up Jim and Bonnie who had spent the day and $500 in Rapid City getting a wheel bearing replaced on their truck.
We spent the evening around the campfire and made it back to the camper at 10:0. Nice day!
Did I mention that the Wi-Fi at Crooked Creek RV Park in Hill City, SD sucks?

2013 - Sept 8 Museum with Jim & Bonnie, Crazy Horse Memorial
We putzed around the campground this morning and I went to the office to use their Wi-Fi to post yesterday's activities. I'll probably do that again tomorrow.
The day started out pretty cloudy, but was sunny and nice by the time we picked up Jim and Bonnie at about 11:00 and went into Hill City for lunch. We visited a few shops before going to the museum. Then we headed for the Crazy Horse Memorial.
Just to give you an idea of the size of the Crazy Horse sculpture, the entire Mt. Rushmore sculpture would barely cover Crazy Horse's head! June 3 of this year was the 65th anniversary of the first of the many blasts needed to get the sculpture to its present state. Many more to come.
We had dinner back at the campground just before the threatening skies opened up and it rained heavily for a couple of hours. We got back to the camper about 9:30 and here I am at the keyboard.
