We left the campground at 10:45am headed to the Village of Lake George, about 15 miles north of the campground. We boarded the Lac Du Saint Sacrement, the largest ship in the Lake George Steamboat Company's fleet. We enjoyed a buffet lunch while cruising Lake George. As usual, the pictures don't do it justice, but it was beautiful.
As I said in an earlier post, there is a car show in the village of St. George this weekend. After the cruise, we drove thru town on our way back to the campground and saw lots of real nice cars. Someone said there are about 4,000 custom cars there.
It's about 4:30pm as I type this and it's raining like crazy. It just started about 15 minutes ago and there are severe thunderstorm warning and tornado watches in the area. We're supposed to have a potluck dinner at 6:00, so I hope the rain stops by then.
Not much more to report. I'll be back later to finish this post.

The potluck dinner started promptly at 6:00, just as the rain was ending. Marsha's Pumpkin Dessert got wiped out! It was delicious! We won a bottle of Rufus Teague Touch O' Heat Sauce in the door prize drawing. Can't wait to try it. I've heard that it's one of the best out there.
There are still weather warnings in the area until 10:00pm, but it looks like it's all clear where we are. So I'm going to relax a bit and watch TV. Enjoy the pictures.

2012 - Sept 7 Around the Campground
Marsha and I just hung around the campground because we didn't know when they would want to start the charcoal so it would be ready in time to cook the chicken. Since Pierre and I were the designated Grill Masters, we thought we should stick around and act like we were ready for action.
We lit the charcoal at 4:00, started cooking at 6:30 and people were eating at 6:00. Perfect! No body reported getting any burnt or raw chicken, so I guess all 80 pieces turned out OK.
A short meeting followed the dinner with a social gathering around the campfire to close out the evening.

2012 - Sept 5 & 6 From Girard, PA to Gansevoort, NY
Google maps said it would be about 8 hours to get to Gansevoort, so we left Jim & Sandy in Girard, PA at about 11:00am on Wednesday, the 5th, planning on stopping overnight and getting to the Northeast Region AOC rally on Thursday, a much more leisurely schedule. We stopped for lunch at a local diner on the west side of Albany and arrived at the rally at 1:00pm. The pictures tell the not so exciting story, so check them out. I'll try to post more interesting stuff later.

2012 - Aug 31-Sept 5 Visiting with Jim & Sandy in Girard, PA
We left home at 7:30am on 8/31 and were at Jim & Sandy's house 609 miles and ten and a half hours later. We visited a lot while we were here.
We stopped by the antique shop in Fairview which was the house where my dad was born and his mother died.
Went to visit my cousin, Ron and his wife, Kathy, as well as another cousin, Charles, and his wife Kathy. Ron & Kathy can bee seen below, but I forgot to take a picture of Charles and Jackie. I looked Charles up and tried to call him, but the phone number was old. So I just went and knocked on his door. Can't imagine his not recognizing me. We just saw each other about 40 years ago, but no contact since then.
We're leaving Girard tomorrow on the way to Gansevoort, NY for the Northeast Region AOC Rally, but we'll stop overnight on the way to make it an easy trip. See you there, or maybe somewhere along the way.
