We got up this morning and met Susan & Lou's friends, Dennis, Libby, and their daughter, Stephanie, at Ellie's Table for breakfast. After that, we strolled Del Mar Street and did a little shopping then went back to the hotel and ate our leftovers from last night's dinner at Nick's.
After lunch, Lou, Marsha and I went for a walk out on the pier while Susan stayed behind and read her book. Marsha and I walked Lou back to the hotel, then set out on our own to walk the beach for a while. When we got back, we took some "refreshments" with us and headed north along the Coast Highway to Laguna Beach where we shopped a bit then went down to the beach to watch the surf.
We left Laguna Beach and stopped at the Wind & Sea Restaurant at the Harbor in Dana Point for dinner. We got back to the hotel just in time to get some sunset shots from our balcony.
It was a good day!
On Saturday, the 17th, we ran around shopping at a couple of Costco stores, among others, then came back to the house and jumped in the pool before turning in early.
Sunday, Susan and Lou drove to Tucson to have lunch with his mother who's in an assisted living facility, and Marsha and I lounged around the house and the pool. So, no pictures for those two days.
Monday morning at 6:10, we left the house, headed for San Clemente, CA for a couple of days of R&R. Yeah, like we need more R&R! The pictures pretty much tell the story. It took about six hours to get to the hotel, but we were a bit early for check-in, so we went across the street and had lunch at the Fishermen's Restaurant before we checked in.
Our room was actually a two bedroom suite on the top floor overlooking the beach and the pier across the street. Nice! We took a nap after lunch, had a cocktail, then went down town for dinner at Nick's.
