We toured the lighthouse and the fort today. There are 219 steps to get to the top of the lighthouse. Luckily, there are landings every 25 steps or so. It wasn't too bad.
We got done at the fort about 1:30 and headed for Scarlett O'Hara's for
lunch. It's a neat little place that has a nice menu. Great BBQ!
Back to the campground for showers and a nap before going to Chris
& Larry's again for dinner and more visiting. On the way back
from Chris & Larry's, we noticed the St. Augustine Lighthouse
shining its beam into the night. I stopped and snapped a few pics. The
one below is the best of them, but I couldn't get a vantage point from
which to see the beam very well. Anyway, that's pretty much what it
looks like.
We went to the Old Jail trolley stop and got on the trolley. Got off at stop 7 so we could go back to the art gallery and take a picture of Marsha's purchase. The lady there suggested the A1A Ale House for lunch. Great food and they serve about eight different hand crafted beers brewed on site.
We went to the Pirate & Treasure Museum. It's new and was highly suggested by several people. Worth the $11.00 ticket.
After the museum, we got back on the trolley and road out the rest of the tour, all of which we saw yesterday, but different drivers have different stories. By the tome we got back to the car, the temperature had dropped to 64 and the wind was gusting up to 35mph. Chilly!
We picked up some beer & ice on the way back to camp. I think we're holed up for the night. Marsha is taking a nap. I think I'll drive down to the snack bar and post today's entry.

We started the day by going to the snack shop to use the Wi-Fi. After that, we walked over to the Beach Overlook boardwalk and snapped a few pics. From there, we headed for Old St. Augustine.
We parked the car and walked around for a while before deciding to take one of the trolley tours. Our ticket is good for several days, so we'll probably go back tomorrow. The tour has 20 stops and you can get on and off all day long. We got off in the middle of the old shopping district. That was a mistake! Marsha wanted to go into an art gallery, which we have done many times in the past, but this time Marsha found the perfect piece for our "big empty wall." They'll be shipping it to our house. I can't describe it other than to say that it's hammered stainless steel replicas of oyster shells. You'll have to stop buy and take a look after we hang it, or mount it, or display it or whatever you do with art!
We went to Casa Maya for a Cochinita Pibil sandwich recommended by our camping friends, Gary & Andrea. Slow cooked pork with spices. It was delicious!
After the art purchase, we got back on the trolley (my knees were too weak to walk) and went to the San Sebastian Winery. We did the tour and the tasting and we bought a couple of bottles of wine to help me forget about the art purchase.
We got back to camp at about 4:45 and visited with neighbors for a while before starting a fire and cooking a couple of burgers. I dropped the burgers into the fire and we washed them off before finishing cooking them. They were a bit sandy, but good!
It's supposed to rain tomorrow, but we plan to go back into town and visit a museum anyway. I'll try to get back to the art gallery and take a picture of Marsha's purchase. Stay tuned!
