2017 Mar 29-31 - Stephen Foster and St. George Island State Parks

Early on Wednesday evening, our last at Stephen Foster, while we were at our campsite visiting with Jerry and Helen, we saw an Alto arriving at the campground. Shortly after Jerry and Helen went back to their site to fix dinner, a woman walked into our site and just started talking like we were old friends. It took me a minute, but I finally recognized her as Diana (husband, Leonard) from Ohio. They were in an Alto at Oscar Scherer for the past week where we had met them and visited for a few minutes.

Diana invited us over to their site for the evening, so we went over an played Rummicube all evening. A fun game, but it takes a lot of concentration. The next morning, we passed them waiting in line at the poop loop (dump station) as we left Stephen Foster, headed for St. George Island.
We stopped in Carravelle for groceries and a BBQ sandwich before completing the 176 mile drive to St. George Island State Park. It rained and blew on our first night in camp, but this time, I got up and took the awning down BEFORE it blew down and I didn't get soaked doing it.
Friday morning, we put the awning back up and went out to explore the island after breakfast. The island is long and narrow. In many places, you can see the Gulf of Mexico on one side and St. George Sound on the other at the same time. I took a few pics before we went back to camp for a nap. Enjoy!
