Dennis suggested that a few of us camp at Ft. Massac over Independence Day weekend. He was there last year and he said the campground wasn't crowded. There were only four campers in our group and the campground was never over 1/3 full. On our last night there, there were only three campers in the whole place!
It was a relaxing weekend. We mostly sat around in the sweltering heat and humidity, shot the breeze, and drank beer! Marsha and I did go into town and check out the Superman sites. On our last day there, Loretta was the only other member of our group who was there, so we loaded into the car and went across the river to Paducah and checked out the riverfront.
We had a nice lunch at Shandies and checked out a few shops. On Wednesday, we broke camp and headed for the Gathering of Aframes at Ouabache (pronounced "Wabash") Trails Park in Vincennes, IN.
