2017 Mar 25-29 - Oscar Schereer and Stephen Foster State Park

On our last couple of days at Oscar Sherer, we kind of laid back. We went to Bill & Kate Isles' concert on both days. I did manage to get an unusual picture of a gator, though. Watch for it!

We left Oscar Scherer on Monday for the 252 mile drive to White Springs, FL where we'll camp for 3 nights at Stephen Foster Culture Center State Park. White Springs is a small north-Florida town that's seen better days, but the park is beautiful. BTW, the carilon contains 96 tubular (shaped like a tube, not like a bell) bells; the largest in the world.

Tomorrow, Thursday, is the first day of a tractor and antique machinery show here in the park, but we'll be pulling out in the morning, headed for St. George Island State Park where we'll stay for seven nights before heading toward Illinois.

2017 Mar 10, 22-24 - Hangin' around Oscar Scherer & Dinner with the Family

Pretty calm here. We've been hanging around the park, went to the afternoon jam session on Thursday. Had dinner with the family on Friday.

2017 Mar 10, 16-21 - Lake Manatee & Oscar Scherer State Parks

While we were at Lake Manatee, we visited with Aunt Jo & Uncle Art. We had lunch on Wednesday at Leisure Lodge, a quaint little campground/resort/restaurant that's way off the beaten path in Bradenton. Then, on Saturday, we went to the Annual St. Patrick's day party at the boat club. There was a dog there that spent more time on her back than she did on her feet. Reminded me of ........... Never mind!

It's been pretty lazy here. Haven't done much except take a five-mile hike since we got to Oscar Scherer. Snapped a few pics here and there and, otherwise just sat around relaxing. We'll try to pick things up over the next few days. I hear there having Game Night one evening this week!
