Friday, 3/1:
We did pretty much nothing today. Didn't take a single photo! Did a bit of grocery shopping and that's about it. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
Saturday, 3/2:
We started off the day by walking over to the Florida Scrub-Jay Festival which was held within walking distance of our campsite. The Scrub-Jay is the Only bird species unique to Florida. It lives exclusively in the highest and driest areas of Florida in habitat called "scrub" which has low shrubs, patches of sand, and few trees.
After attending the festival, we found a trail through the scrub which got us back to our campsite. On the trail, we saw an Osprey building a nest. Back at camp, we ate lunch and took a nap.
After the nap, we drove south on US 1 to Jupiter and stopped by the lighthouse and Museum. It was after 4:00 and the attendant suggested we come back another day if we want to take the tour, so we took some photos and headed for Jupiter Island.
Driving northward on Jupiter Island's Beach Road, we stopped at Blowing Rocks Preserve where we walked the beach trail and the beach.
After crossing the bridge coming back into Hobe Sound, we made a quick stop at Winn Dixie to pick up a gallon of milk. Back at the campsite, I started a wood fire and cooked some burgers. It doesn't get any better than this!
Welcome to the McCrays' blog. The purpose of this blog is to share our activities and travels with our friends and family. Be sure to stop by often. Click on a photo to enlarge it (most times).

2013 - Feb 28 Lunch at Green's Pharmacy and Touring West Palm Beach
We had arranged for Gary and Andrea to pick us up at the front gate at 11:00 for our trip to Green's Pharmacy in West Palm Beach, but on our way the to gate, we stopped to check an area said to be inhabited by alligators. Sure enough, there was one there. The temperature was in the low 60s, so he wasn't moving much. Maybe he was just holding still for the photo.
We arrived at Green's Pharmacy at 11:25 and entered through the back door off the parking lot. This place was/is frequented by JFK and many other famous people such as Jimmy Buffett and Rod Stewart. Pretty plain, good food, nice staff. Other than that, I don't know what the attraction is.
We drove around West Palm Beach and the areas where Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan live, but we didn't see them. We found Rush Limbaugh's shack.
Gary and Andrea dropped us off at the campground and we went to the camp store and got some ice before returning to our campsite. We walked down the road and caught the Alto camper owners at home. He spoke broken English and translated for his wife. They were from Quebec City and had owned the camper for two years. They've pulled it about 30,000 Kilometers and like it very much.
We cooked brats over our campfire this evening and here I am, writing this post.
More later!

2013 - Feb 27 Hanging around JD State Park
After showering and eating breakfast, we walked down to the campsite where the Alto is parked. Nobody there, but I took a picture in case they get away before we talk to them.
We picked up the CD and literature for the park's auto tour last night, so since it's a bit chilly today, we decide to take the tour. There were twelve stops on the tour. At each stop, the CD told about the plants, animals, history, etc. Very enjoyable and educational. Most of today's photos were taken on the tour.
It started raining in mid-afternoon when we went into Jupiter to find a Wi-Fi hotspot to post yesterday's stuff.
