2017 Mar 10, 12-15 - Little Myakka River SP and Lake Manatee SP

We were at Little Manatee State Park for four nights. It was pretty much a place to camp while we went to the reunion in New Port Richey. Consequently, there are very few pics from there.

On Monday, after a 49 mile drive, we arrived at Myakka River State Park where we'll be for a week. Marsha's Uncle Art and Aunt Jo Linda live near the park, so we'll visit them while we're here. We haven't really done anything exciting yet, so I'll just let the pictures and their captions speak for themselves.
Well, we did have a bit of excitement on our first night at Myakka River. We went to Art and Jo's house to visit for a while. It started raining early in the evening and by about 8:15 there was a tornado warning issued for our area. We go back to the camper about 9:00 and all was well. Not much wind, but still raining pretty good. Suddenly, in about ten seconds the wind went from 10 mph to about 45 mph. One of the awning stakes pulled out of the ground and the awning was flapping around like crazy. I went out and took the awning down and let the poles fall where they may. I shoved the awning into the car and went inside, soaked to the skin. After drying off, we hit the sack. the picture shows what it looked like the next morning. Luckily, there was no damage.
Enjoy the pics!
